Megan & Shannon

Today is all about power and roles in the bedroom…get ready for some naughty fun!

S&M start with the concept of feminism in the bedroom.   We explore what it means to us, and then get into roles that partners play.  Yes, we’re talking dom/sub *gasp!* That also means getting into some kink talk and the movie that got people talking about it- Fifty Shades of Grey.

And don’t think that dominance is all about control and power.  The submissive is actually the one in control. Men and women also may change up which role they’re in.  Either way, there’s no shame in any of this kink play and who you are in the bedroom doesn’t define who you are as a whole person.  Lady in the streets, freak in the sheets!

We discuss the importance of safety, respect, and trust by way of consensual agreements and communication including having boundaries and safe words.  The whole experience needs to be rooted in that and allows you to connect and learn more about yourself and your partner.  Being present is also key throughout this exploration.

We talk about Dr. Emily Morse’s Yes, No, Maybe list and also her concept of timing, tone, and turf when communicating with your partner about sex.

It’s also important to know what your triggers are and if something comes up for you that your partner understands what after care looks like in order for you to feel safe.  And there’s always the option to seek professional help if something has been unearthed that needs to be addressed.

Shannon talks about sexual sovereignty which is about being in your power, knowing you have the right and obligation to explore yourself and your own sexuality, to communicate it, and to respect and honor each other.

Let the fantasies begin!
